Oh, the ash would be blown away for at least a short amount of time! The ash itself would be replaced to near previous levels in about an hour or so; it's still snowing ash after all.

It would certainly expose the ash sharks, and it'll really tick them off- they don't like to be seen by their prey at all. Thankfully, they are pretty slow on solid ground, but they will call to their comrades in angry shrieks.
