It responded well to pets, it seemed so tame, and so he thought there would be no issue in climbing on when it offered itself to him— but then everything changes. The horse, his own clothes, and he's holding some sort of jack-o-lantern in his right hand, illuminating his location as the horse rides erratically along, not caring who is in the path along the way.
Eichi tries to call out to the young boy when he first sees him standing in the way that he can't control this— but his body is already so stressed by the actions that he coughs, instead. Thankfully, the boy seems to have dodged out of the way, but Eichi misses most of that clear change in his posture and all as the horse races away...
But he turns to look back, only to see that he's still being followed. By a complete stranger? To help? He's wielding that cane like he intends to use it for something, too.
