( harrow looks up sharply to track the sudden movement of the jack-o'-lantern as it lurches backward, causing the skeletal limb to uselessly lash out at thin air. those eyes then narrow, and she releases the necromantic theorem; the bones crumple into dust and blow away into nothing. she hears the sigh, and she turns on her heel to face the stranger, eyes narrowing so that her mistrustful eyes peer from the dark shadows painted onto the orbits.
she doesn't recognize this young man. she also doesn't recognize the magic. she has uncovered enough forbidden necromantic secrets to not throw out of hand the possibility for some type of magical discipline that she had no knowledge of, but... indeed, that possibility was one that rankled at her. and it shouldn't, considering when it came to other extant branches of necromancy (which had less to do with bones and more to do with blood, flesh, fat, spirit, and soul), she was woefully inadequate in comparison to her peers.

( there is a reason she has been moving the way that she has: she occasionally stops to transcribe her last few movements through the streets into her journal, as a working map is the first thing she feels she needs to obtain. )
