Sam Porter Bridges | Death Stranding

Arrival
The problem with living in a world after a post-apocalyptic event is that things other people might find immediately recognizable are completely alien to you. This is the situation Sam finds himself in when he wakes with a start in a bed that most certainly isn't his own.

It doesn't take long for sheer panic to set in. "Lou? Lou?!" Anyone else trapped in the house is sure to hear his frantic yelling, and his tone that continues to become more and more desperate as the moments tick by.

Braving the Trail I
To say Sam is used to the location is a complete overestimation, but at the very least, his serious and stoic demeanor means that he manages to come across as incredibly unfazed to anyone who isn't very good at reading people.

He's no stranger to hiking around spectacular views, so Sam keeps walking. He moves like he's in great shape, not looking like he's the least bit out of breath, even when he stops to take in the view. Anyone enjoying the view with him will eventually get him glancing in their direction. "Pretty, out, huh?" is all he says before turning back to the view.

...He's not much for conversation.

Braving the Trail II
Maybe it's a sudden sound behind him, maybe it's his imagination, but whatever it is, something compels Sam to look behind him.

It happens too quickly, but maybe that's by design, where Sam finds himself rooted to the spot, and that... thing centimeters from his face in a way that distinctly makes his skin crawl. "What... what the hell."
