[ It seemed to be the Thing, for arrivals to go around and dispelling the 'spirits' in one way or another. Not from personal experience, but observation; though it was only recently that he heard some kind of shriek that someone else that had passed by was completely oblivious to. It's been a weird first day, but not exactly the worst. After all, it wasn't as if someone was trying to do all of that to him. So he continued on his way.
Right until someone crashed right into him as he took time for a mid-air snack. Which really wasn't fair for someone like Matoba; Dressed differently was the going rate for people around here, but floating around certainly wasn't. Add that to the gathered and loitering energy around him (which the shape could be as hazy or as defined as you'd like,) and the red eyes after he looked at the guy, Matoba really had no reason to think that this person would be solid. Even as he got back to his feet from the collision, it didn't change the other signs that were there.
Yet, as he answered, his eyes went down to the fruit that fell to the ground. ]

It was those hologram spirits' home as much as his. There were definitely other occupants in this house, even if they were currently out. ]
