[ perhaps vangeance's answer does ring hollow in russell's ears, but it's nothing that the knight can do at this point. unfortunately the person he's talking to has been hurt so many times... that the thought of someone so valiantly protecting others sounds either like a recipe for tragedy or a farce.
it's not like he ever had a knight in his life. every adult that "helped" him had only done so for their own gains or perhaps to cover up the ugliness in their heart. and the only one that didn't, well--
he killed her too, didn't he? she couldn't stop his suffering either, so she had died just like all the rest. maybe not at his hand, but russell might as well have been the culprit.
what good is a knight for if the person's suffering can't be healed? if that's the case, then this good-for-nothing knight has already failed at his mission. and weren't knights beheaded when they failed their missions? ]
