So it's another second before he walks over, crouching to drag a finger through the salt, still not sure what its property is supposed to be. That was just regular table salt. This is what happens when your world didn't exactly have things like exorcisms, or lingering spirits. His kind were the closest to the equivalent, for how they interacted and saw the world. He didn't even know 'spirits' were something that could be out of bodies until all of this.
